About Ulrich Wiehle

Ulrich Wiehle (Uli) is a strategic advisor and board-level partner who works with founders and CEOs to close the gap between strategy and results. Most businesses he works with don't have a strategy problem. They have an execution problem. His work focuses on the discipline, alignment, and honest conversations at leadership level that turn good intentions into measurable outcomes.

Uli spent over 15 years in Germany's capital markets as a partner and shareholder of Cometis AG, advising on around 50 IPOs and bond offerings and raising over €2 billion for clients across Germany's SME and mid-cap sector. That work gave him an unusually precise understanding of what investors and boards actually look for and what separates companies that scale from those that stall.

In 2018 he joined Advisory.Works as a strategic operator, working directly alongside CEOs and leadership teams to implement growth strategies and build execution capability. In 2022 he became a shareholder and director. The results across those engagements have averaged 18% revenue growth and 42% EBITDA improvement within the first year. Several of the businesses he has worked with have gone on to become national market leaders in their segments.

Among the engagements he is most proud of: supporting an equipment manufacturer grow from €20 million to €500 million in turnover, helping a trades business double its revenue to over $24 million within three years while turning an EBIT loss into a 15% margin, and co-building Beyond, a strategy execution software now operating as a standalone international business after two successful capital raises.

Uli is also the author of several financial reference books, including 100 IFRS Financial Ratios, translated into seven languages with over 500,000 copies sold.

Having built his career across Germany, Europe, and New Zealand, Uli is currently based in Germany for project work. He brings the outside perspective of someone who has seen how businesses operate across very different markets, combined with deep local knowledge of the German Mittelstand and the New Zealand business landscape.
